A beginners Guide to Writing Erotic Stories.
ABOUT
So you want to write erotic stories ? There are two basic forms. Both are sexual in their content.True erotic writing involves character development and plot. Short stories, or porn, as they're called in the trade may or may not include character development and plot. They are designed to get the reader sexually aroused. This site will attempt to educate the novice writer in both. The same principles apply which ever you are writing.
Asstr.org and Nifty archives are two sites that are well known and used by many authors to get their start. Problem is they are big, clunky and offer no interactive help. As well as have some limitations in content.
Whether you're just beginning, or have been rejected by a site, or didn't receive the response you would have liked, this site is here to help.
Tips, Hints etc.
First and foremost, you must have a basic knowledge of writing. Proper use of indents, spacing and punctuation is key. Without it you will fail. Simply put, if it's not readable it will not be read.
If you want to be published make sure you read the sites submission process and follow it exact. Or ask the admin questions before sending. All sites have policies in regards to formats and content. Some more liberal than others.
Write about what you know. This may sound simple, but it is important. For example if your thing isn't BDSM - don't write about it. It won't feel real and you will look a fool.
Keep your dialogue and descriptive words consistent with the character throughout the story. Donot use vagina/penis in one line, then refer to as pussy/dick, or some other variation later. Also if a character greets with "Hi" don't have him/her using "Hey", "Yo" or something else later. That only confuses the reader. Consistency!
It is a good idea to know these. They may be required or optional depending on the site.
