A paragraph should be one train of thought.  Or a scene.  Longer paragraphs/scenes should be broken up with dialogue  or more text paragraphs.  Always with a space after.  Sentances and paragraphs sould never run on endlessly, bleeding into each other.  See examples of good and bad structure.
